Our Story
La Conciergerie de Julie began with one simple observation: capable people were losing their evenings to logistics. What started as a favour for a few Johannesburg families has grown into a curated network of trusted specialists serving households across South Africa.
2018
Julie took on her first client after a friend confessed she had spent an entire Sunday coordinating a plumber, a gardener, and a birthday cake. The solution was simple: one call, one person, everything handled.
2020
As word spread, we formalised our screening process. Every cleaner, chef, and sitter now passes background checks, reference calls, and a practical assessment before joining our directory.
2022
Demand from coastal towns and farming communities pushed us to broaden our coverage. Today we coordinate services in nine provinces, from Cape Town to the Garden Route.
2023
We launched our searchable catalogue so clients could browse vetted specialists, compare coverage areas, and book directly. The result: more transparency, fewer phone calls, faster resolutions.
2024
After repeated requests for dinner parties and private celebrations, we created a separate events desk. It now handles everything from intimate chef-led evenings to full weekend gatherings.
Today
Our network now includes over 120 vetted specialists. The founding principle remains unchanged: delegate the details, keep the calm, and let people get back to what actually matters.
The most valuable lesson came from listening. Clients did not just want tasks completed; they wanted the mental burden lifted. That insight shaped everything — from how we brief our specialists to how we structure our follow-ups. A concierge is not a luxury for the idle. It is a practical tool for people who have better things to do than hold on the phone with a utility company.
Our Identity
La Conciergerie de Julie exists for the families and professionals who carry too much of the day in their heads. We are the organised counterpart to a busy life, taking on the errands, the appointments, the repairs, and the planning that quietly pile up. Our work is measured in restored weekends and calmer mornings.
Working couples in Johannesburg and Cape Town, single professionals with demanding travel schedules, and families juggling school runs with home renovations. Our clients value their time more than the cost of outsourcing it.
Discretion, reliability, and a genuine understanding of South African households. We do not offer a generic list of services. We match each client with vetted specialists who fit their home, their routines, and their expectations.
Clear, direct, and unhurried. We explain options without jargon, confirm details in writing, and follow up when we say we will. The tone is calm and competent, the way a good household manager speaks.
Julie spent years coordinating her own household while running a full-time career. She noticed that the same tasks consumed everyone she knew: finding a reliable gardener, booking a last-minute sitter, arranging a birthday dinner that felt personal. The idea was simple, to build a service that handled these details properly, with the same care she would give her own home. That is still the principle behind every booking we make.
